Now there's finally an answer to the question "What do I use after Easy Grammar Plus?" The Ultimate Series looks like Daily Grams but functions as a continuation to the instruction and mastery found in Easy Grammar. Just like Daily Grams, the course is divided into 180 daily 10 minute lessons but these are teaching lessons as well as review lessons. Each of these lessons provides the familiar capitalization, punctuation and sentence combining exercises. The remaining two exercises per lesson vary. Content includes parts of speech, phrases/clauses, analogies, sentence fragments/run-ons, prefixes/suffixes/roots, dictionary, spelling, simple/compound/complex sentences. In each daily lesson there is instruction associated with at least one of the exercises. Students are to read and discuss the instruction, complete the exercises, and participate in a discussion of the answers. Consistent with mastery learning, concepts are introduced, expanded and reviewed. The Teacher Book includes reproducible student pages with answers in the back. The Student Book is not reproducible and includes only the student pages. The Test Booklet which is reproducible provides one assessment for every 10 lessons. Pages are perforated with answers for each on the facing page to the assessment. In other words, each test page has answers to the following test on the back. ~ Janice
These materials offer a complete and comprehensive coverage of all three elements - grammar (i.e. parts of speech, complete sentences), usage (i.e. homophones, figures of speech, proper word choice to convey meaning), and mechanics (i.e. punctuation, capitalization).

Hi! How would I list this grammar program on a highschool transcript? How many credits would be appropriate & would it be listed as "english" or "grammar" or something else?

BEST ANSWER: I don't get very technical with my transcript details. I categorize it as grammar, but I wouldn't consider this a full course worth of credit. I give my kids a full English credit each semester which is made up of this grammar series, writing composition (from history research/assignments), English Literature and various other things littered in from time to time (such as Latin root studies, SAT prep work, Cultural Literacy assignments, etc.) A side Tip: I make my kids grade their own assignments when completed for immediate reinforcement of missed concepts.

In SC, to receive high school English credit, composition (essay writing), grammar, and literature are all included as English 1, 2 ,3, & 4 with different types of literature (American, British, World) each year.

Because of the shortness of the lessons, I added it to my 'English' class and didn't list it separately. I think if you did it a couple years you could designate it as a semester of grammar.

I listed ours in conjunction with Wordly Wise and the Good and the Beautiful under English. It isn't a full curriculum, just 5 questions per day.

I would list it under English 1 (9th grade) because it is an important part of a well rounded language arts program.

BEST ANSWER: The student's book does not have answers. The teacher's book has the student's copy without answers with the answers following in a separate location.

BEST ANSWER: The teacher's edition does have the answers to the student workbook. Additionally, it includes reproducible permission to copy for student use. The entire student workbook is included in this book. If you didn't want to reproduce it, you could simply rip the answers out of the back (all answers are in the back of the book) and use the rest as a student text/workbook.

Yes it does. The teacher edition has the student's questions on one side of the page and the same questions on the reverse side, but with the answers marked. I have actually used the teacher's edition by copying the students pages for the student.

Yes. It contains the blank student workbook and an answer section in the back. I buy the teacher books and either remove the answers for me to check, or have my student self check.
